So that’s happened now.
I imagine that they will paint this as the response not to the most recent events but to the earlier assassinations that they promised to respond to but haven’t yet. That way they get to look very restrained and pretty peacelike to the rest of the world (obviously not to the US or Europe, but that was never an option). Israel gets the chance to get away with two attacks with only one response and many countries (Again, not the ones on the “usual map”) will find that pretty fair. Israel will not take them up on any opportunity to deescalate and will act in a way that makes them look like a blood frenzied rabid dog, which I guess at least counts as some kind of honesty.
