As a decades long Vim user, this article made me consider looking at emacs again. I’m interested in learning more of the nitty gritty of his implementation than the broad over view given here.
I’ve never used it. I like VIM a great deal, but there’s certainly room for improvement. Emacs would be a big change and I’m scared. I’m constantly learning about my system and how to do things, and I don’t know if I have brain space to learn a new text editor too.

That is pretty much what has stopped me from even attempting to learn emacs over the years.
