    Strikes me as a (weird) variant of slat armor. I would be very interested in to see if this is effective or not. Though my gut tells me it’s throwing shit at a wall and hoping something sticks.

    I don’t think this one is going to stick.

      Unlike slat armor, the entire defense relies on one single target point on each side. Ukrainian drone operators are going to bullseye it and then immediately start going for the unprotected bits.

      these will just get the mortar shell, roadside bomb, or dropped ordinance

      they are literally only going to slow down one attack vector while raising all sorts of new limitations on the vehicle including massive energy use and spin up time
