So far I’ve just been checking out free games to get a feel for the system, but it looks like I have a 3 month pass for Horizon+ ready to activate, so I can try some other stuff once I have an idea what to start with.
I’ve been having some fun with Ironstrike and War of Wizards so far. I like the concept of the virtual CCG in Cards & Tankards, though it does seem like it’s going to try and bleed money like most “free” card battlers.

I recommend Batman Arkham Shadow and Half Life Alyx.
If you don’t have VR legs (you still get dizzy with VR) I would say Batman does a better job for new players than Half Life (both games are thought as a first VR game though).
And after that you can try Half Life 2 in VR, it’s also amazing.
Talking about source games, even if you think you got VR legs though, I’ve tried the Portal 2 mod and despite e how much I love the game I gave that up.
I can do flight tricks in No Man’s Sky and play Skyrim without teleport for hours, and Portal 2 fucked me up. Not sure exactly what was wrong, but I was not even started on the disorienting fancy tricks yet.
I got somewhat used to it after a while (for short sessions), and then I got to the point where stuff was broken (like turret line of sight) and it killed it completely for me.
I’m tempted to copy that youtuber that used a manual treadmill with a mouse taped on mapped to stick forward/back and configured the dpi for 1:1 walking and played through hl2 which ended up being essentially a marathon
What?! I have to look for that video hahah
I remembered watching it in a cafe and it turns out I still had it open in a tab of my laptop

Wow the mouse setup is incredible! Hahah thanks for sharing! :)
I also noticed when opening that tab again there was also a video about reality runner, a magnetic sensor and magnet ring that go on the roller to achieve the same thing with more polish and pleasant configuration. The feature promoted in the review, supposedly unmentioned on the website, was being able to trigger a games sprint button after running above defined speed threshold. He noted the best feel is when you can run faster than the maximum non sprint speed 1:1 so the boost triggers when you break past it.
The maker responded to a bunch of youtube comments and it sounds like it works on linux too but I didn’t see anything about that on the website. I’m quite tempted though, it’s not as cheap as any old mouse but my main concern with mouse remapping was getting it to work in linux.
