You’ll be pleased to hear then that I started Withering Rooms , and even tho I haven’t seen much of it yet, (Defeated the first boss and unlocked an… important area) I can say find it eerily-adorable; and it’s exactly the kind of thing I crave deep within, I even like the combat! Thank you for talking about it.
Aaah, I’m so glad! God I love that game so much. I can’t explain it but like I said before, exploring it gave me similar-ish vibes to exploring Dark Souls 1 the first time. Just a great experience all the way through, the only thing that could make it better is fully voiced characters, but for a solo dev with a tiny budget on his first game that is a lot to ask of course.
I might actually do another playthrough soon and try another build, just because Early Access on the sequel got pushed back to September and I am craving more.
I don’t mind it but I do love me some voice acting, it helps me get immersed. But on the flipside you could say that bad voice acting would be way worse than no voice acting, so for the budget level it was probably a wise decision.

Somehow it works for me. Pairs well with the reading I suppose, I like imagining the voices and such.
