We are going to need to completely replace the DOJ and its rules. It is clear that much of America’s governmental structure is too easy to game, doesn’t punish bad actors, and is just plain stupid.

The house is a rotting husk.

I’m convinced there’s a private equity expert somewhere in the Trumpsphere advising them on how to run the private equity playbook on the US gov to extract maximum profit, in this case at the expense of the public

Both sides? If only it were that simple. There are three sides: the complainant (citizen Trump), the defendant (Trump 45’s IRS), and the mediator (Trump 47’s DOJ). On the plus side, shining a light on the absurdity of our criminal Justice System is sometimes helpful.

    Trump Can’t …

So sick of these headlines. He can, because those that could stop him are either in on the corruption, or are cowards that won’t resist him.

You… think a news headline is protesting? Or, more to the point, you think these giant media companies aren’t on Trump’s side? They certainly aren’t on ours.

I never suggested we be quiet. I’ve been to protests. I’ve protested Trump several times, and expect I will have to many more times. Let’s resist him and his fascist ambitions, but these articles that are like “Trump can’t do X because it’s illegal!” are nonsense because everyone lets him get away with whatever he wants…

Not when you’re in a position to do something about it and refuse to, using respect for norms and procedures as your fig leaf.

The people have long since realized that the DNC are useless, and constantly reminding them of it only helps reinforce the impunity of the Mango Mussolini and his kakistocracy.

This isn’t a reporter breaking the silence to reveal how laws are broken, this is “Democrats say Trump broke laws” but won’t do anything about it. The point is to continue portraying them as opposition.

It’s not their job to remind people of the laws, it’s their job to do something about it.

    Nooooooooooooooooo shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.

The fact that we have to argue these basic ideas like what corruption even is, since they claim this isn’t corruption, tells you everything that is broken about our system of government.

Our media treats plain baldfaced lies the same way we do as truth with mountains of evidence, all on the worry of someone suing them. That’s not journalism, that’s being a pussy and letting the people you’re supposed to be speaking truth to power to walk all over you.

These aren’t questions. This isn’t a discussion. This is corruption, it’s that fucking simple and if you can’t see it you either aren’t paying attention, you’re an absolute idiot, or you’re one of the ones benefiting from the grift. There’s no other fucking reasons to justify not seeing it.

Democrats asked a court to block a reported settlement between the IRS and President Donald Trump over a leak of his tax information during his first term, saying it lacks the bare minimum required to file a lawsuit: two opposing parties.

I guess the question we’re testing here is “can the president use the judicial branch as a key to treat other federal agencies as personal piggy banks?”. Incredibly, this is actually up for discussion.

But there are two opposing parties, one is Donald Trump citizen of the USA. The other is President Trump, president of USA.
And the 2 barely know each other, fuck they barely know themselves from what they did a week ago.

So the joke is on the Democrats, Trump will get away with it again. Or maybe not, 1 out of 10 of his corrupt shenanigans are stopped, maybe this is one, but that’s OK, he will just move on to something else, while crying about how victimized he is whenever he is stopped in his corruption.

USA is wonderful country, full of entertainment, but personally I’m beginning to find the Trump show a bit boring and unrealistic.

Playing by the rules went away a loooooong time ago. At this point the Dems just look silly for even bringing it up.

I mean this is the kind of fight that liberals, at least as far as political theory goes, should be taking up. Like, this is their wheel house. Its what they are all about, legalism, post-enlightenment liberalism, rule of law, etc.

The problem they’ll soon find out though, is that Trump and co, well, they aren’t really liberals anymore (although they clearly kneejerk just like liberals do, and I’m …so so as to whether or not Trump is a liberal. They definatley have both authoritarian and liberal tendencies, day of week seems to decide which emerges. But those around him surely arent’)

So arguments around liberal theories regarding the rule of law… this administration and SC… they don’t give a fuck.
