I’m trying to identify every public-facing channel Mozilla has for announcing changes and soliciting feedback. They’ve got their social media, their Connect forum, and this Nightly blog.

Strangely, none of them mention their work on their FIFA sports tracker widget, which currently has some Phase 3 development going on.

      I saw a mention in this week’s report :)

Most of the team is heads down building out a sports-tracking widget, attempting to get that ready in time to be generally available for the upcoming World Cup event.

Well, and there’s the public repository and bug tracker, which you just linked to :P

What does phase 3 mean in this context?

I was talking about something different: a public-facing channel for announcing changes and soliciting feedback .

Well, were other things announced before they got to phase 3? Is phase 3 something special before which things are usually formally announced? Or might this just still be a little bit too early in development?

Plenty of people have already seen a Countdown widget that’s apparently for only the FIFA World Cup.

Yeah I’m not saying that it’s not in development; just that maybe it just hasn’t been announced yet?

They’ve released phase 1 (a FIFA World Cup countdown timer) on mobile devices; it appears for me on a fresh install and I’ve seen other people talking about getting it online too. I guess maybe Phase 2 and 3 are going to be a surprise (Sports team tracking is 2, I’m not sure what 3 is except maybe bug fixes)…

Oh! I’m running Nightly on my phone but I haven’t seen the countdown timer yet. Maybe I’m in too niche of a country to get the goods early.
