Technology@lemmy.world•It just keeps getting worse - Firefox to "evolve into a modern AI browser"
21·2 months agoIt’s very sad as I don’t think there’s a proper alternative in short term. In the end, I am afraid that I’ll have to keep using Firefox because it’s essentially the “lesser evil”,
And we’ll get to play Skyrim on it
No love for Jane Austen? Some of her works are all time classic. They could probably compete with top 10 literature work of 17th-18th century.
Another author that’s under appreciated would be Gertrude Stein.

Fuck AI@lemmy.world•Japanese Mozilla volunteer translation team disbands as AI translation destroyed their work
34·3 months agoProbably it could simplify their deployment process. They could package all AI translated languages at the same time of English packaging. Instead of waiting for volunteer for human translation.
However, it is extremely shortsighted, especially considering it’s Mozilla which is technically a non-profit company. It’s more understandable if it’s a public company with investor’s pressure and there are costs associated with manual translation.
Tried on my laser printer and it’s broken now

Canada@lemmy.ca•No fines for big grocers that promoted imported food as Canadian
8·6 months agoYou are not wrong. But what is really annoying is the government is holding lawful citizen to a very high standard, where they would fine you at every chance they get. While being very lenient on big corporation.
I got a fine for accidentally overcontributing $600 to my TFSA account. While big corporation can keep getting away with this kind of shenanigans all the time.

I don’t live in a tropical region so imported tropical fruit can be a toss up. A colleague from tropical region told me to put salt on these fruit if they are too sour. Since then, I discovered a new way to eat tropical fruit.

Steam OS which is based on Arch doesn’t need much first time configuration. It’s the greatest invention since bread slicer
Gaben is the fourth Messiah given us by God himself. I use Steam OS which is based on Arch btw.

World News@lemmy.world•Bacterial infections resistant to multiple drugs are widespread in Gaza, study finds
1·6 months agoI am really curious from a purely scientific perspective. Does genocide always create bacteria genome resistant to antibiotic?
If we take recent genocides, for example, Rwandan genocide and Armenian genocide. Did we also observe such correlation?
