This is to positive. Vienna is very slowly moving in the right direction when you look at the inner city. But, the local politicians still have a car fetish and are, at the very moment, trying to build an unnecessary highway through a national park.

I don’t think this proofs anything. Would it be painfull?.. yes… would they go dark?..no
How the fuck would you determine this?

Ja, nein, vll., wie sie wollen… Aber bitte nicht auf Twitter!

To the surprise of absolutely no one? Make bicycling safe and people will bicycle…

Both, its both. Shitty consumers with gas guzzlers that throw away their consumer electronics every year and use single use plastics on one side and shitty corporations that buy corrupt officials to make sure that there are no alternatives to a wastefull lifestyle on the other side.

I am using public transport for everything, urban, suburban, cross country. Trains, busses, trams, subways, sometimes even cable cars. There is a public solution for everything, in my opinion. Although, the more urban and the higher the population density the easier.
Edit: I am not sure if I am just missing your point. Are you just talking about electric busses in an urban enviroment?

I am not advocating for absolutely no cars, but it shouldn’t be the default to own one. Neither should it be a necessity in order to participate in society. Car sharing is of course a good solution for the last kilometer.

Maybe you can tell that to the Swiss, or the Austrians… Some of the best train connections, in the middle of the Alps.

I don’t think there is really a geography where trains are not feasible. I also don’t think (charging) infrastructure would be a problem because public transport should be highly predictable. And saying that 3 ton vehicles that are mostly used less than an hour per day are not a waste of resources is disingenious. I know a lot of people can’t imagine a life without cars, I couldn’t at some point, but it is possible and it is even better.

We will not get rid of car centricity with electric car centricity. Cars are to resource intense to be part of a sustainable world. People should hear the truth from time to time…
Everywhere where human rights are upheld and democracy is valued is fine. But, I think Europe should have those industries. So, I try to buy european.

Still a waste of resources. Public transport for the win!
“At least 5 years”

Android is also, in principle, open source. You can use non-google forks if you want.
Investing billions for a tunnel through a national park which most likely will destroy the local enviroment (Au) which is already at a breaking point.
Keep the A23 and make it ZEV only, build some more public transport, would be my suggestion.
