Photography@lemmy.ml•Affordable and decent bird photography setup? (600mm equiv)English
1·3 years agoOne possibility would be getting a used APS-C DSLR from Canon or Nikon, both come with a wide range of their own and third party lenses. Since both are wide spread they’re comparatively cheap second-hand. That might vary depending on where you live though.
I’m not sure about the current state of things, but until a couple of years ago DSLRs had still an edge over mirrorless regarding wildlife and sports.

1·3 years agoThat’s the site not working in microsoft edge neither. I just tried the troubleshooting mode in ff, still the same. It does work with ff on mobile though. Luckily i ordered my new kettlebell last week when it still worked, gonna take a while 'til i need a heavier one :)

2·3 years agoActually i don’t remember all, since i followed links from other sites. Others i found a workaround. The only one i tried to make work and still can’t is suprfit.com.

Green Energy@slrpnk.net•Need to get off the grid fast. Is a gas or diesel generator my best option?English
61·3 years agoThat depends on how many sun hours or/and wind you’ve got at your place, how much panels you can install and of course how much light you’re using. I don’t have the knowledge to do the math on that.
Is there a free market to buy (sustainable) electricity from at your place? Or are you forced to buy from the local/regional provider?

244·3 years agoBoth will blow a lot of dirt and greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. What about solar panels or a windmill?
I think ist depends on the reflected wavelengths.
Haha, right after my comment i got flooded with posts from new communities on lemmy.nsfw and furry erotica. It definitively is annoying. At least the preview is blurred.
I was just scrolling “All”. I’m sorry i can’t help you with kbin, i never tried it out. Good luck with it, though.
Btw, your profile pic is rather funny :)

For now i just block the communities as they show up, same with shitposting communities and other stuff i’ve zero interest in. Waiting for the ability to block entire instances.

1·3 years agoYou might want to chill down a bit. It’s not like people run a nuclear plant with Lemmy. I mean what’s the worst thing possibly happening if you miss a handful of posts? Exactly, pretty much nothing.
Development wise i think mod tools are far more important. Keep in mind that Lemmy is still beta and only one part of the fediverse.
Well, i just assumed something like the play store has an index about all the stuff they host. I used Debian for most of the last decade, so i might be a bit spoiled.
Thank you! Answering with Connect right now. Works fine so far.
It’s strange that none of them turned up when i searched for “Lemmy Apps”.
