Without having seen the video I guess bc this is the Europe community and while the genocide in Palestine ofc is a topic that should concern anyone, it might not fit the topic of the community in people’s eyes. I didn’t downvote BTW, but you asked for reasons why people would and I think that’s probably it.

you’re right on that. Already pulled the pole and bird quite a bit out of the mist with dehaze in darktable but when I tried to make it “pop” even more it started to feel unnatural/just didnt look good anymore. But that was also my personal pain point with the image; if they’d be tacksharp and have good contrast it would take the quality of that shot up quite a notch :)

Hey kiddo, there’s a ton of good advice here that can bring you ahead.

If you decide to try it on your own remember: practice makes perfect and there’s no guarantee your fix will work. Don’t be disappointed if it does, but think about what you learned and how to do it better next time.

Also if you’re feeling in over your head remember you’re not alone. Check where the next repair café is near you. This def. sounds like a problem with a good chance of being fixed and the people there are nice and helpful.
