16·1 month agoIncorrect. The American claim was that Denmark does not do enough to protect Greenland. The reaction to that was to increase the NATO presence on Greenland. Why this is being considered threatening behavior (when an ally does exactly what you ask of them) is because politicians want to play both sides of the argument. The hope is that every action can be spun in the press so they can get whatever outcome they please
Which protection did you grow up with?

Cooking @lemmy.world•[QUESTION] Are there cookbooks that are like “workbooks”?
2·7 months agoThe closest I have found is Tim Ferriss’ 4-hour chef. It’s pretty cool cause it builds on skills rather than cuisines, and to be fair it’s more a book about learning to learn instead of being purely focused on cooking. But its pretty cool, give it a shot.

Ereader@lemmy.ml•E-reader news - Rakuten Kobo relies on too many 3rd parties for their e-reading software
4·7 months agoGood question. I used my kindle in the same way, and I found Koreader was just more feature rich (and snappier). The dark mode I was missing was back and when I opened it, it went straight to my library instead of a dumb storefront. It might not be worth the effort if you are satisfied with your experience of a kindle in airplane mode with your calibre library on there, but I enjoy the features and the open source aspect.
(Edit: I forgot to mention that I now use a Kobo Clara color after my old oasis died)
