However they’re not in the businesses of losing money, and once the majority of people realise for an upfront cost you can generate, store and use electricity to support yourself and the community, the demand for oil will substantially decrease thus driving the price higher; supply and demand, less demand, less extraction, higher price. Yes we need oil for a wide variety of products and services and it will be around for many years but, setting it on fire just to generate electricity, transport people and goods is a bit short sighted.

2·3 months agoWhat oil lobbyists fail to realise is that regardless of whatever policies they push for in governments, people will choose the cheapest and easiest form of in energy production and transportation which at the stage is proving to be sustainable.
