“Some very rich old white men are exerting their power to suppress our own people, thus creating a feeling of civil war in the streets.”
This zombie knows what they’re bleating about
And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a
rich manjob creator to enter into the kingdom of God.

UK Politics@feddit.uk•We owe it to Epstein’s victims and to British democracy to demand historic change | Gordon Brown
1·1 day agoThis is a well written article with many sensible recommendations. Almost revolutionary as far as MPs go, let alone an ex prime minister.
However, he still supports Starmer within it. He talks about justice for the victims and yet gives his full support behind one of the people involved.
Mandelson betrayed Brown, this is personal for him, but he was and still is within the New Labour anti-left cabal.
Lessons need to be learned, absolutely, but he’s not taking his own advise and wishes to keep the current corrupt management still in place.
Is it it though? With closed source software we don’t know what the software does.
What’s stopping audio being recorded, stored locally, and only transmitted when other legitimate data is being transmitted? Hiding amongst the rest. Split up into random packets as to be obfuscated.
This used to be the talk of paranoid tin hat conspiracy theorists without any evidence but with the amount of tech scandals, Snowden leaks, etc it’s no longer unfounded paranoia. Tech companies are nefarious, they will figure out nefarious means to get what they want.
But… But… But my piece of paper says that I own everything you produce!

10·1 day agoLet’s hope Starmer doesn’t last the week then 🤞
Gotta keep pushing that he purposefully appointed a known close associate of a prolific paedophile to high office.
If he can’t get that right, how can we expect him to get more important decisions right?
This isn’t his first scandal either. He’s lost his shine among those delusional enough to actually support him. Is it enough to topple him? I don’t know, but I hope so.

151·2 days agoYou really need to watch this video. It explains it all. It’s long, but it’s incredibly well researched and presented.
Raw materials are not an issue.
There are a multitude of possible downsides with nuclear and with the greater number of reactors around the world comes the greater risk of something going catastrophically wrong for large amounts of people.
Solar has none of that downside, unless you include the sun devouring us in 6 billion years time…

UK Politics@feddit.uk•Jonathan Freedland: There’s one argument Starmer could make to save his skin – but he won’t dare do it
71·2 days agoHe could say that what has enraged so many, including among his own MPs, was his admission on Wednesday that he had known, when he appointed him, that Mandelson had continued his relationship with Epstein. But, Starmer could say, pointing his finger at the benches in front of and behind him, so did all of you. It had all been laid out, in detail, two years before Mandelson was posted to the US, in a JP Morgan report covered in the Financial Times. Why did so few of you protest at the time? Why, on the contrary, did the Westminster village, including Farage by the way, along with most of the media, support the appointment, declaring it a masterstroke?
Did anybody in opposition support the appointment and declare it a masterstroke?
I’m finding that hard to believe. Opposition rarely tend to praise the current powers, especially for something as minor as the appointment of an individual person.
