Having thick skin isn’t a superpower. It just makes you less sensitive to both positive and negative emotions. Either way there is damage that needs to be healed.

USB-C hardware@sh.itjust.works•Giveaway: Free BLE caberQU USB-C cable tester to the UsbCHardware community

It is to stop items from accidentally getting charged to the wrong person. It benefits both people. I never expect a thank you for doing it. If something gets charged to the wrong person, everyone gets screwed. You, the cashier, and this idiot. Now everyone has to wait for the cashier to void the transaction and call a manager over. Congratulations, you played yourself.

2·5 months agoIt is much easier to build this robot army if Tesla doesn’t give away 1 trillion dollars and uses that money to invest in the actual robots. Hoarding money doesn’t help anyone expect the person hoarding it. Musk is already a billionaire and is doing nothing for Tesla with his current wealth.

91·8 months agoI think they are doing it to punish poor people, but I think it could end up benefiting them. It is 5 grams or more of added sugar so juice should be exempt. I don’t think the government should be dictating what anyone eats but if it is, it should do it for everyone. If not having sugar is good for everyone, tax the same products being banned. Taxing products has been proven to reduce consumption. Since they didn’t, it is clear they are not trying to help anyone, just punish a specific group. However, a positive unintended consequence of this change is that it will hurt Coke, Nestle and other producers of high processed addictive foods.

2·8 months agoHe was in debt, cheating on his wife and had six kids. Clearly not making a lot of rational decisions. That being said, divorcing the wife would have cost him a ton of money. Especially if his wife didn’t know about the debt and his affair came out in the divorce proceedings.

7·11 months agoI guess not much is technically true. However having to replace the main battery pack is the most expensive component. In an ICE, it would be like saying, not much broke except the engine which needed to be replaced. Also the
The person also doesn’t know why they replaced it for free. It wasn’t supposed to be covered under warranty.
Mostly right except for aluminum and maybe PET #1 plastics. Glass should be washed and the bottles reused. It would be informative to the average person if it said “plastic, not recyclable “ so that people know for everything except PET.
What makes aluminum cans so unique is that they are often recycled back into themselves, containing nearly 70% recycled material. That is 3 times more than plastic or glass. This translates into the can’s leaving a good environmental footprint. It also has a high value for re-selling, making recycling programs possible. Scrap aluminum gets $1367 per ton, as compared to plastic that only gets $310, and glass actually gets $0 per ton. Cans are also getting lighter, while continuing to stay durable. This leads to better efficiency for shipping, and eventually less waste.

You are correct. You buy them online and they ship from California and you register them in Texas. Texas has showrooms. They can tell you about the car but they can’t sell you the car. You have to buy it online.

News@lemmy.world•‘Dogequest’ Site Claims to Dox Tesla Owners Across the U.S.
6·1 year agoI own a tesla model y and am already looking at replacing it. Vandalizing my car won’t help me replace it. I am also never going to buy another tesla again. I would have loved a Rivian but their suv was 15k more without the super charging network.
The Elon Nazi salute didn’t happen until January 20th so 99% of tesla owners didn’t know he was a nazi when purchasing their cars.
Considering almost all car companies were caught up in the emissions scandals, I am pretty sure most people vandalizing other people’s cars, own a car from a car company that destroyed the environment for profits. It isn’t that easy to avoid companies that do shitty things.
Not advocating vandalism but tesla dealerships and showrooms make more sense as a target than individual owners.
I also had a similar experience with bazzite and ubuntu.
Apps would look like they installed but they are nowhere. Tried the app store. Tried flatpak. It instilled but clicking on the icon wouldn’t launch anything. Ended up with two icons for the same app. One works one doesn’t. No easy way to uninstall non working app.Bazzite bluetooth stopped working after update. Had to run two commands found on the Bazzite forum to get it to work again. Steam wouldn’t update either. Had to run another command I found on the forum to get it to update.
This is all last week. I am still running both but I wouldn’t call it ready for the non-IT user.
The App Store has to work consistently for it to be accessible for the average person.

If that isn’t it I don’t know what the joke is. Maybe Americans are so stupid that they accidentally make the right choice?
