21·2 days agoThere’s violentmonkey scripts that overwrite and delete them, and they stay gone. I’ve been using one for years.
They might still be in some AI training data sets, but they’re not on my profile.
The only PITA thing is that you get rate limited, so doing your initial batch of deletions could a while, then just run it semi-regularly.

18·6 days agoJust keep the last top button unbuttoned, and hide it with the knot.
I never want to wear a tie, but it’s not hard to keep it just loose enough where it’s not outright uncomfortable.

That would be terrible.

politics @lemmy.world•Trump has a plan to steal the midterms. It will probably fail. The nightmare scenario for American democracy is no longer unthinkable.
47·10 days agoGovernors need to call up their national guard, and place them around their state’s vulnerable election infrastructure, with orders to prevent illegal interference in their local elections.
ICE can probably outman and outgun any local police department, outside of major ones like NYPD or LAPD, but not the national guard.
Trump would be forced to bring in the actual military to steal the election by force. At that point, he either has the support for a coup, or he doesn’t.
Best I can do is offer you a choice between a candidate who’s a devout Zionist, but a Democrat, and a candidate who’s actually anti-semitic, but is being blackmailed by Israel, so their policies are even more Zionist.
The top comment is calling this post left splitting, and implying that this type criticism is dangerous/nefarious.
And that’s the comment I was responding to.
What are you talking about?
The Democrats ran the centrist (again), and vote blue no matter who was the mantra everywhere I looked.
The voters that didn’t fail Kamala.
The voters didn’t fail the Democratic party.
Kamla and the Democratic party failed the voters.
Vote blue no matter who?
I’m old enough to have seen that tried many times now, and look where we’re at.
I think it’s time for something different, and we can start by not championing centrists, or attacking/shaming people on the left who do criticize them.
To the Democratic party, big tent politics means right-wing politics, and if you don’t know that by now, I’m not sure what to tell you.
Allowing criticism from the left and recognizing that American centrists are right-wingers by another name, no matter their party affiliation.
Because big tent politics and capitulating to centrist/right-wing Democrats has worked out so well for us.

11·11 days agoI remember when former GOP Senate Majority Leader, and heart surgeon, Bill Frist went on Bill Maher sometime around the late 2000s, or early 2010s, and they were discussing vaccines.
Bill Maher, being the shithead that he is, was voicing his vaccine skepticism even then.
Bill Frist, whom I’m loathe to give praise to, turned away from Maher, looked directly in the camera and said that vaccines were safe and encouraged everyone to get vaccinated.

News@lemmy.world•Newsom Declares Super Bowl Sunday to Be ‘Bad Bunny Day’ in California, Trolls Kid Rock for Being ‘Banned’ in State
2·11 days agoEpstein targeted swaggerless losers with lots of money and/or power.
You can say a lot of bad things about Gavin Newsom, and I encourage you to, he’s a soulless leech funded by private equity, but the man has game.
You would be hard-pressed to find a cougar or MILF in the California political scene that he hasn’t run through.
I’m not saying he never fucked underage girls, because I don’t know that, I just know that he wouldn’t of needed Epstein’s help to do so.

25·12 days agoAnd I used to pay them money for it, but cancelled as soon as they rolled out ads into my existing plan.
If they had introduced ads into a cheaper tier, I would have bitched and moaned, but still kept paying for Prime.
Instead, Amazon gets no money from me, and I still get their content, ad-free.

You might have just let it run past the rate limit.
After it limits you, the script looks like it’s still running, but if you hit refresh, you’ll see your timed out, and nothing past when you’re actually limited, got deleted. It’ll be several minutes before you can start running it again.
I’ve done this for many hundreds of comments.
Every once in awhile, I’ve had a few batches of comments reappear that I can’t associate with a rate limiting error, but I have yet to find comments that come back a third time.
I guess YMMV, but that’s what my experience has been.
