  • Nowhere did I claim anything democratic (even though I could). I claim that when a head of government really fucks up, Europeans sometimes rise up to the challenge. Brave Americans seem to have lost that capacity since the 1700’s. Also, that which you call servility, can be interpreted as “let the chest pounding gorilla pay for most of the expenses of our protection”. Trump wasn’t all that wrong about having European countries pay a bigger share, although for the US it was cost efficient to foot a larger part of the bill, to keep the first line of defense an ocean away.

But yeah, remove Turd. Then you will have earned the right to talk about others.

I own a couple of inflatables, a tiny foldable, car trunk capable dinghy with an 4 hp motor, and a mid sized trailerable RHIB (rigid hull inflatable boat). The dinghy is named cuinmeri (phonetic spelling of Queen Mary in Spanish) and the RIHB is called patchwork, because of all the patches it had before I retubed it. And yes, I’m a near boomer (early Xer) dad.

    Patchwork before retubing:

  • I have been a Scout in 3 countries, 2 European and the US. This was in the 70s-80s. European and US were quite different, both gender segregated, but still followed basically the same values. Inclusivity was mild but present.

My kids are now staff at a group in Europe. The group is coed, and firmly inclusive. The government has no say, except in training of staff, which is mainly safety, and other practical matters when dealing with kids.

The idea of the government intruding into values (except for exclusive behavior) is so foreign that they would be hit with lawsuits immediately.

  • I defend that simply doing what is needed to clean up all the shit we have left behind up to now, let alone prevention, energy transition, moving to biodegradable plastics, mass transit, etc, would create immense economic growth. It’s essentially the fossil fuels cartel, and their political minions who keep us here.

Maybe if all of the renewable sector pooled together to lobby as hard as the fossils, there could be advances.
