@garretble I just noticed that some apps like @flipboard haven’t been updated and don’t allow you to make them small enough to allow the dock to appear. But it does work when I turn it to landscape. Gotta love the odd things that always pop out of betas!

@garretble that might be since it’s the first beta. I’m assuming it happens even when you resize the windows and move them near the top.
@garretble the dock auto hides when the apps go below a certain point. It probably hasn’t done it on your monitor because you have more space. If you resize the windows, it should come back and stay put. It’s a setting under multitasking.

Apple@lemmy.world•iPhone 16 Launch Is Just One Month Out – Here's Everything We Know
2·2 years ago@TheFeatureCreature I couldn’t agree more! Apple’s design language was awesome… a decade ago. It’s still classic, but it’s just not unique anymore. What’s worse for Apple is that some companies have moves being Apple and had improved end slab design (looking at you One plus). It’s time to make a change to their iPhone and iPad design. I hope they do more than “make it thinner”.

Apple@lemmy.world•iPhone 16 Launch Is Just One Month Out – Here's Everything We Know
2·2 years ago@TheFeatureCreature I don’t understand the year over year comparison complaints. Most buyers are either upgrading a 3+ y/o phone or are buying new. This is true for androids too. People forget that iPhones have always had minimal changes year over year (remember the S upgrades).
All new phones, android and apple, have to improve incrementally on a yearly cycle because the alternative is worse. People buying a new phone want the latest and greatest. That means a yearly incrimental upgrade cycle.

3·3 years ago@burnedoutfordfiesta agreed. There should also be a recognition that this is an imperfect forum for expressing every nuance. My view is that I approach everyone as though they sincerely want to discuss something. They can prove me wrong, but it usually pays off. I get to hear criticisms that I might not ever have considered. I’m mostly on Counter.Social for exactly this reason. No trolling.

42·3 years ago@burnedoutfordfiesta For example, I’m not sure why you were reported (I didn’t see anything wrong in your post) and I can appreciate your frustration, but your response is a good example of this. Ending with “enjoy the circle jerk” is exactly the result the result we get from voters.

32·3 years ago@burnedoutfordfiesta we are just going to have to disagree on the effects of these laws on elections. The problem is that people only see these laws as a problem when they disagree with them (by people I mean the middle). On top of that, when you use the power of the state to silence dissidents, people feel like they can’t change things and give up.

81·3 years ago@burnedoutfordfiesta lol. The right is doing the same thing look at laws like “don’t say gay” in Florida or banning books in schools bc after decades they are too “woke”. There’s nothing sacred about speech. I believe we should err on the side of allowing more speech, but threats have been criminalized for a long time, and in a lot of places so is defamation. Both sides do this and it doesn’t really affect elections. It takes more than that for people to change their votes. Look at Israel.
@MCasq_qsaCJ_234 @apple_enthusiast that’s not a possible claim. At most they can try to take over the board of directors.
