From the article:
But sometimes, something new shows up that makes us long-time Linux users pause mid-coffee sip and go, “okay … hold on. What exactly are you doing over there?”
Lol

Their TV app was already fucking unusable before this. Smarttube or nothing.

I’m not hopping instances, I will just leave. Social media is worth very little to me. Abandoning it would mean nothing to me.

I signed up for the developer’s instance because fuck reddit, and I do dev work.
Server choice had nothing to do with any political shit. I barely knew what federation was at the time. Lemmy immediately proved there are as many bandwagoning idiots as reddit here.
I have nothing to say about world though, I don’t use the platform that much.

Is that ren and stimpy?
Forget about that part. We got rid of him, he’s your problem now.
Add some more height to the image and put it on a temple in the clouds.
Basically this, they rage quit and go back to windows or even a Chromebook. I try to support customers on linux but they need to be talked away from Arch if they are just grtting started.
Arch forces people to learn what MOST dont want to and MOST people shouldn’t need to, just to do basic tasks on a computer.
Switch to Arch later if you’re curious and want the training wheels off, or don’t if you just want to use your pc as an appliance and walk away.
Lol at arch on the mountain. Every fucking noob goes straight for Arch.

Remote access is the one pain point. There is very little for RMM or remote software that works on wayland. KDE has that in the works already.
Everybody says Rustdesk but it is a bad joke regardless of wayland.
Personally I host a simplehelp server(paid) and it’s really good but wayland support is a no go so far.
Everything else has been categorically better and fixed a lot of issues for me that I used to have on X11 which I’ve used for like 15 years.
X11+Gnome until gnome 3 then KDE for me because I’m not using a damn tablet (or workspaces).

It works well, has little to no vendor lock in, and has reasonable or no licensing costs.
Also drivers can be developed without needing anyones permission or validation like with Windows drivers.

Wow I can’t even imagine that. I would guess I watched at most 10 movies over the year. Do you know what the cumulative runtime of your watching is?

It plays in a little tiny Square and won’t full screen because full screen is broken which is unwatchable, and the content is not worth this shit when there are dozens of site with the same thing but working.

The fathers of Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, and Jeff Bezos.
Erasing the existence of anyone would have to be done in the past so that shouldnt be an issue.

Wow what a garbage website. Literally unwatchable.

Turmp
Lol incoming defamation lawsuit here.
Is that improvement past the 1.0 release? That update was great but it still needs some work and unfortunately I’m not the right kind of programmer to help either.

They couldn’t convince chatgpt it was needed so it never got put in. Now it’s too late to include enough conext so its “impossible”
“The majority’s decision thus permits ISPs to sell an internet connection to every single infringer who wants one without fear of liability and without lifting a finger to prevent infringement,” she notes.
What a cretin. That’s how it should be.
