  • We aren’t anywhere near the idea of perfect revolution, people are still caught up with perfect action planning, perfect rallys, perfect protests, perfect meetings! So many people over think the most basic stuff, it comes from a good place, but it usually leads to impotence.

“Golly gee, our org is so terribly white, that means we can never organize around or make a statement regarding black issues. What if we get something wrong and someone calls us out?” and then the group proceeds to do nothing

That’s the type of shit I hear damn near every single time I’m in an irl organizing space. That’s where the “radical left” is in my area. I know you all have dealt with it too.

You gotta use the information and experience you have to the best of your abilities and move forward. Doing something imperfect will get you far more community respect than doing nothing.

Because we don’t just blanket support taxes either. What kinda tax? A sales tax? An estate tax? Income tax?

Communists should avoid promoting taxation that would disproportionately burden the working class.

Edit: Seems like we all are on the same page, maybe I could have framed my original comment better. I realize the memes purpose was to highlight the issue of surplus value extraction which absolutely should be peoples #1 priority, I just get a bit tense when people get too excited for taxes. There’s a right and a wrong way to do it and beating libs over the head with “lol taxes are good actually” isn’t (in my experience) an effective slogan. Usually better to focus on progressive taxation. Things like capital gains tax. Or straight from the communist manifesto “A heavy progressive or graduated income tax”. Promoting sales tax? Bad actually!

So, the law as written quoted in the original post, atleast to me and I’m not a lawyer or anything, doesn’t seem to imply that it would actually be illegal. Police might still charge you (because they’re scumbags), but I’m willing to bet its something that a judge would throw out.

I’m gonna be the odd one out here and say that route is hardly unwalkable, and with some minor changes could even be somewhat safe compared to the walk I make to work everyday. I went down the entire route road by road in street view, you’ll be hugging the shoulder in spots, walking in grass and cutting across the road a few times, but you can manage it.

While I understand how you feel, you gotta think about how news gets reported.

Republicans aren’t so far off when they talk about the “liberal news media”. The news reports democrats failings significantly less, or frames it using more neutral language than how republicans are reported.

During bidens presidency I literally never heard anything about deportations, yet he did deport a significant amount of people. More than the amount we’ve seen from trump (so far).

No matter the justifications, the tone, or the methods, deportations still happened, and currently more of them happened under both Biden and Obama than with Trump. People most certainly were hurt and/or killed in that process too.
