boomers have benefited from everyone paying their taxes and now want to opt out of contributing to the community. Even though boomers overwhelmingly benefit from prop 13, with lower taxes than many in the community - now they want to not contribute, while collecting social security and medicare.

It’s already difficult enough for people under 40 to buy a home. and out of reach for many of us. schools are already underfunded and dependent on property taxes to fund schools. this ballot proposal is the wrong way to help Californians.

When I travel, and tell people I’m from SF, I’ve gotten the questions “Isn’t it dangerous?” “Isn’t it dirty?” “Is it as bad as I see on TV?” and no it’s not particularly dangerous or dirty, and when Fox News shows “San Francisco” It’s always the worst street in the Tenderloin, and characterizing it as the entire city.

I’ve been to Republican leaning suburbs with equally as many homeless people, even though they are much less dense and less populated than SF.

I never had any affection for this news anchor, and especially not the show she works on. but this story is sad and dark. It’s conflicting to keep up with the updates on this story because I assume this old lady was targeted because her kid is on TV (and therefore rich and famous)

This may not actually be a case of double jeopardy but really seems like “1 jury may be sympathetic to him, so lets do 3 juries to hedge our bets” they are throwing the book at this guy to make sure he doesn’t get free.
