I dunno i have put Mint on many computers including an 80 year old woman who just checks her email and news. No one ever has issues and i don’t get calls . I think Linux has a PR issue more than a “barrier” … I would say Mint “just works” great .
I ran this script to remove copilot and it installs a stub update to make it appear its still installed so M$ won’t try again… working so far.
no … I do believe in Kindred Spirits tho. I met a girl and we just get along really well , she has different beliefs , views and likes than I do but we can chill and be very comfortable around each other. We easily pickup where we left off even after months / years of not seeing each other. Would i date her ? NO !
for the most part if your using Chrome you don’t care about your privacy anyway …
I have two gmail accounts which i need for now but i check them with Thunderbird. I have to have Google play store and services on my phone because my banking app will not work without them, both stripped of permissions and no background data. I use Aurora store and F-Droid for everything else. All search engines at home and work changed to DDG or Ecosia. Organic Maps is ok , i read in this thread Comaps is good so i’m gonna try that. Firefox everywhere with either Brave, Ecosia or Chromium browser as backup.
this is why I’m here … done with reddit for casual browsing. I shame my friends all the time for using Facebook etc …

same , never really used it but deleted it.
I try and block everything all the time. the fight is real. PipePipe for youtube , Firefox + Ublock for web . Exploited firestick with Wolf Launcher and SmartTube on TV , Linux on all PCs , DeGoogled phone (wip) and Adguard DNS on the router. Windows PC’s at work with copilot, onedrive removed and ooshutup10 . Also use a few modded apps such as Tubi with no ads and my sleep music app with no ads. Probably more ive forgotten but always open to suggestions and the work is never done.

nice work!! i just got here. better late than never ! . i like it so far , my reddit usage will decline.
i use gmail but i use thunderbird to check it . working on a new address. if your using Windows consider running something like OOshutup10+ to stop M$ spying. we use LibreOffice at work except the one office lady can’t use anything but excel . Linux on my home pc’s , wish we could at work… Good job on the stopping , i’m currently doing the same. F the US.
Canadian Tire is my new amazon … haven’t tried delivery yet but i did go in-store to buy a few things i was going to get from amazon … i like how on the website it tells you the aisle number. i guess in the app you can make a light blink on the shelf if you can’t find it.
now do the same thing with Canadians about mericans . 90 degree upwards i’m guessing.
