  • While the headline is clearly bollocks, there is absolutely benefit to Canada warming its relationship with China, the body does have a kernel of a point, one which is however ALREADY clearly the main intent of the Canadian govt.

    Yes there are dangers to being dependent on China, they have zero compunction on using any leverage they have to their own benefit. So does the US.

    The body of the article pointing towards a grouping of the remaining developed countries (EU, Japan, Korea, Commonwealth etc) has been clearly Canada’s primary activity for the last 6 months, and is in fact the only useful way forward to deal with the US going rogue.

    However balancing the hostile powers (China, USA, Russia) by playing them off against each other where possible is also useful.





  • That is certainly a valid point. I think the rule has to be direct relevance to Europe, not just every puff of sulphated methane coming out of his mouth.

    Discussion on how the Fascist States of America latest atrocities are going to impact Europe seems relevant. Everything certainly isn’t. The Democrats latest hopium about winning back control in the mid terms certainly isnt












  • Perception changed as info flowed more freely. They’ve been evil quite a long time (at the least the 1970s), our very ridiculous intellectual property laws (mostly copyright but also other facets) are the direct result of Disney lobbying (and directly bribing) US govt lawmakers at multiple levels of govt.

    It was only post internet that their leverage on media channels weakened enough for it to start being discussed
