  • It’s either staying silent because you’re anxious and don’t want to be rude by interrupting people. So you’re just bored listening to a non stimulating conversation.

Or, the conversation is something you like a lot and you keep interrupting people and bothering them so the conversation ends.

The rare third option is you sync with another neuro atypical person and bounce back and forth with each other while everyone else stands their silent unable to follow a conversation that seems to make no sense. But makes perfect sense to you both.

  • Russia isn’t “harmless” if we’re having a conversation about capitalist incentives and imperialist interest and how they result in global conflicts were the working class suffer the consequences.

But if you hear mainstream media start to cry “but Russia” you should see that as a HUGE red flag.

There is no comparing “Russian Influence” to the extension of US imperialism that is the Israeli colonial project. That’s ridiculous.

I think the only silly thing we do is pretend that Israel is “controlling America”. No, Israel does the the absolute worst things in the interest of American Imperialism; that even the American oligarchs want to distance themselves from.

  • Dude. Your first reply was some age based condescending bull shit. You’re really gonna play the ableist card at this point?

You can do it. You can admit you hyperfocused on one sentence, started with some condescending comment, and then kept doubling down.

I’ve given you so many opportunities to just say “yeah, I was nitpicking your comment”.

I even reached out to you as clearly someone that is recognizing your own atypical brain in empathy. Like, it’s just you and me reading these comments at this point mate. You can admit you started this is bad faith; and I can admit I took the bait.

  • Holy shit the level of autism in you. I can’t compete.

I’m autistic too, but I fall for this a lot trying to explain to other autistic people that don’t understand. You are being an asshole when you take every sentence someone says literally. Especially, in the context of a completely different point someone is trying to make.

I said to rent a dvd. In the context of the post that is a suggestion to get media in different ways.

You can pirate shit, you can go to the library (some have HUGE selections for free), etc. That was the INTENTION of that sentence. A neuro typical person would understand this. Hell, most autistic people would understand this. But you sure are going on another level to purposely misunderstand the point of my comment.

  • They’re still operating them mate. Doesn’t matter if they’re all universally owned.

But, holy shit, this wasn’t even my point. It was about owning something! I used DVD to refer to owning physical media instead of watching a movie while paying for a subscription and watching ads at the same time.

Pirate your media, buy DVDs at thrift stores or Facebook marketplace, or whatever. That was my point. It’s amazing to me that people pay for cable and pay for streaming services and still watch ads.

  • I can kinda get that. I probably see more ads than I think I do. Self adblock from your brain.

I don’t know if it’s my spectrum brain or if this happens to other people. But I realized that I have literally mistlenly trained my brain to ignore REALLY OBVIOUS warning signs because they basically are designed the same as ads.

I’m the idiot trying to figure out why something isn’t working with the big sign next to me telling me why.

Small tiny text sign in black on white. Well, that looks important. I’ll read that. Big red bold and underlined sign. Can’t fucking see it.

  • I abolished it almost entirely from my life since I was about 10 years old. Have spent most of my media consumption on the internet with adblock. I honestly think it made me smarter. Not, in like a book smart way. But just having a better sense of reality.

The Superbowl is one of the only times I see ads every year. It just shocks me. Not that “ads work on people” but that people don’t just go read a book or rent a dvd instead. Like, they are so fucking awful and ruin any watching experience.

Its amazing that there is a large portion of the population that literally spends 10%-20% of their media time watch ads.

  • I’m sorry I’m capable of using my brain and knowing THE LEADER OF THE PARTY, the person that leads and directs policy for their entire term in office, THE PRESIDENT, is the person to blame for being weak and not whipping votes to get their policies passed.

What is this brick wall you’ve built up in your mind between the Democratic party and its leader?

Is it so you don’t have to address the failure? Like poor ol lil Biden tried so hard but HIS OWN PARTY is to blame? Gee, I guess Trump has nothing to do with funding ICE like a second military. He clearly had no control. That was the House and the Senate that voted for it. /s

    Do you hear yourself?

It’s so pathetic that you bring up my original comment as being unrelated. It’s not. You’re too stupid to understand it. That’s not my fault.

What is my fault is I made the assumption you were not stupid. I made the assumption that you understood a small amount of how the system works. I apologize for the “jump” you felt because you lacked basic understanding of the topic.

But, now, I’ve literally tried to spoon feed you some basics and you’re grabbing the spoon and shoving it in your ear while screaming “ugh! What does that have to do with that?! My brain can’t comprehend how that works!”

You’re so stupid that you see me explaining things to you as “shifting the goal post”. I’m not pivoting my argument dude. I’m trying to put basic information into your brain and it keeps bouncing off the smooth surface.

  • If they voted to end the filibuster (something they only need 51 votes to do. As it’s a rule and not a bill) they could have passed student loan forgiveness (a bill) with even 2 of the 53 Democrats at the time not voting for it. Meaning a simple 51 vote majority. They could have passed a Green New Deal. They chose not to.

Like, how do you not get what I’m talking about? Like, can you not connect basic things together?

I started talking about the filibuster because I incorrectly assumed someone reading or replying would have a minimal level of understanding of our system of governance.

The president leads the party. They lead policy and push for whips to whip votes in the House and Senate. To pretend that the Democrats and Joe Biden were “stuck” is idiotic.

Just because you don’t understand how things work to get legislation passed doesn’t mean it “has nothing to do with it”. It means you don’t understand it. I can explain more if you want. But you are grandstanding on your own ignorance and it’s quite frankly embarrassing.

  • I had this perspective until I started watching him again recently. I know my politics have moved left since I grew up listening to him. But he’s stood still. It’s kind of painful to watch how much he loses the forest for the trees on every single issue. Feels like he’s a gatekeeper at this point. Basically keeping a large portion of millennials from being moved further left.

He’d be the best president in my lifetime if he won. But, that bar is in the dirt.
