Far from it. Our nonviolent resistance retains the moral high ground and embarrasses them. Especially as they try to provoke us to violence.
The moral high ground? People are fucking being murdered in cold blood by fascists and you care more about how people perceive you?
Yes.
Fucking disgusting.
Oh? How so? Winning the battle of public perception is key to a popular revolution.
What do you offer instead? Giving the fascist state a cassis belli to ramp up more violence?
Who wins in that case?
Oh? How so? Winning the battle of public perception is key to a popular revolution.
And continually rolling over with no pushback is demoralizing to the supporters needed for a popular revolution.
It’s a balancing act, and trying to play only one side will absolutely fuck the movement.
If that was true, they wouldn’t put so much effort into suppressing peaceful protests.
Violence may scare them more, and peaceful protest with a demonstrated willingness to escalate is ideal if one is going to peacefully protest, but the elites know that even peaceful protests can threaten their interests and strengthen the workers.
Come on guys, you have to respect property laws. Seriously. Respect property or we won’t get the change we want.
Also, nothing the white christo-fasicsts would find offensive. Your protest must be sanitary enough such that a person who will never recognize you as human would approve.
Only the state and the “bad-guys™” are allowed to use violence. We’ll only permit you to use violence to protect your bodies once its too late for that violence to be effective. Here’s a bunch of irreproducible factoids to convince you that only peaceful reactions to fascism are effective. Please ignore all historical precedent and go ahead and participate in the parade.
The only silver lining is that these foot munchers can’t keep the delicate balance between subserviance and revolt for much longer.
Yeah, but I believed this silver lining since the 90s (and even that is only bcs I didn’t understand the system before that).
Choice is thin, and its either submit or resist. Atop that, this is not like the 90s, if you aren’t rich you are struggling right now. A little desperation goes a long way in either direction.
Ive read people peacefully protesting are also being beaten up.
*non-violent to capital
Violence towards the plebs is encouraged for their good night sleep, nothing like the assurance that nothing will change.
