I don’t know about you guys but I’m tired of taking the high road. These fascist pricks have no morals. They know there are lines polite and reasonable people won’t cross and they use that to their advantage. They have no such constraints. Every hesitation on our part exposes another crack that they can slip through and avoid consequences. Threats of social repercussions, financial penalties, and prison sentences will not win this fight. The only way this ends is if we take it all the way.

Charge them with treason, execute them, and redistribute their wealth to the people. Anything less will only allow this disease of insatiable greed and lust for power to fester and one day return. Even going that far will only keep such men at bay for a generation or two. It will take constant vigilance and unwavering commitment to the principles of equality and justice to keep them out of power. We got lazy and gave them an opening. If we want to get rid of them we have to be willing to be as ruthless as they are in pursuit of that goal.

Not exactly. RCS is the default when enabled but it’s supposed to fall back to MMS when RCS is not supported. For whatever reason my messages are not doing that, but only in most of my group chats. Messages to individuals and even a couple of group chats work fine using MMS.

Same, been having some issues with receiving group texts but overall the switch has been much smoother that I expected. MicroG works for all the use cases I’ve tested except RCS but I don’t really care about that.

Have you had issues receiving group messages on e/OS? RCS is borked but I figured that would be the case. Not getting group texts is a problem though and I’ve tried every solution I can find but nothing seems to work.

To be fair, parenting is a pretty shitty gig. Expectations are high and support is low. People judge everything you do, especially those who have never done it themselves. Even with good kids its a thankless slog most of the time. God help you if you get a hard one.

I think that any solution in the form of a formal government regulation will be subject to that kind of corruption, and real solutions need to be found elsewhere.

I think that’s a fair statement as it relates to the current US government but I don’t think that’s a valid general philosophy. I agree that our current priority should certainly be to implement a government that can be trusted to regulate things effectively. If that isn’t taken care of first then the rest doesn’t matter. As evidenced by, well, everything happening right now haha. Still, the ultimate goal should be government action on this topic because we cannot solve the problem at an individual level. Some people can have better outcomes than others but there’s no level playing field without government intervention.

Its perfectly relevant to my point, which is that the government is already involved in the sort of behavior we’re discussing. If we accept that preventing societal damage, or promoting social well being, or whatever else you want to call it, is a part of what the government exists to do, then why would something like preventing mega corporations from hijacking the development of children fall outside its purview?
