World News@quokk.au•6 families sue TikTok over deaths of their children after apparent ‘choking challenge’English
4·1 month agoDid we just skip the “Run blindfolded into oncoming traffic TikTok challenge” between tide pods and choking, or have I not been paying enough attention?
Section 230 needs a paddlin’ now that it’s clear big tech controls every platform and every corner, and Trust and Safety is nothing more than a weak tea after-the-fact press release slash out-of-court settlement promising “changes”.

2·1 month agoYes, because “debates” will help after virtually every amendment between 1-11, 13-16, and 18 has been wantonly violated in the course of exactly one year to the day, with everything else but 21 in the crosshairs.

Watching this closely. They’ve been looking to shed the pacifist overtones for the last couple years. Don’t be surprised if this becomes a trend everywhere but the U.S.
Even if democrats in America maintained a shoo-in two term POTUS, supermajority in both chambers, 40 governors, and 7-2 on SCOTUS, they’d spend so much time pre-optimizing and planning and bickering over special interests that they’d lose the control before any change could occur. Whereas the GOP asks “why change the constitution, when we can just wholesale ignore it?”
